Booking Arrangements

Full payment must be made at the time of booking. If no availability is shown please contact our Customer Services by emailing stromnesscs@orkney.gov.uk or calling 01856873535, they may be able to help you find a room.

We encourage all guests to ensure they have ferry bookings prior into our sites.

Hostel Single Occupancy & Exclusive Rooms

Single occupancy bookings can only be made by contacting us by by telephone or email. Rates from £23.60 - £29.90 for adults and £20.60 - £22.70 for juniors.

Exclusive Room rates from £66.00 - £83.00 which includes 2 Adults or 2 Adults and 2 Children.

Exclusive Use of Hostel

These bookings can be made online or by telephone or email.
Discounted rates available for whole hostel bookings.
Rackwick £123 per night, £652 per week
Hoy Centre £617 per night, £3292 per week
Birsay Hostel £493 per night, £2705 per week

Camping Tents, Caravans & Motorhomes

Rates from £12.00 – 22.70 without electric hook-up, and from £28.20 with electric hook-up.

Opening Dates

Point of Ness Campsite
Open from April to October.
Check in from 14:00.
Check out by 10:00.
Toilet facilities will be closed during while Wardens carry out daily cleaning.

Birsay Campsite
Open April to September.
Check in between 12:00 and 21:00
Check out by 10:00
Toilets and building facilities will be closed while Wardens carry out daily cleaning.

Birsay Hostel
Open all year round except through the Christmas and New Year holiday period..
Check in from 17:00 (please inform the warden of your expected arrival time).
Check out by 10:00

Only open to large groups (more than 12) and whole hostel bookings. Please contact
stromnesscs@orkney.gov.uk to enquire.

Hoy Centre
Open all year round.
Check in from 17:00 (please inform the warden of your expected arrival time prior to arriving in Hoy)..
Open all year round except through the Christmas and New Year holiday period..
Check out by 10:00.

Rackwick Hostel
Open all year round.
Check in from 17:00 (please inform the warden of your expected arrival time prior to arriving in Hoy).
Check out by 10:00.
